Brynawel Guest House is a beautiful Victorian house next door to Thomastown Park with

stunning views over the Merthyr valley. Brynawel Guest House is walking distance to Merthyr Tydfil town centre,

the train and bus station, but far enough away for you to have a peaceful retreat. At Brynawel we can offer a beautifully

decorated room or a self catering apartment. We are available to meet and greet you on site and would be delighted

James' Place @ Dowlais is our other location (also close to Merthyr Tydfil town centre) where we have

7 self catering studios. Each is newly refurbished and offers practical accommodation with great style whether you are working

away from home or exploring the area. Each studio is individually styled and contains a double bed, kitchenette (including induction hob,

microwave, fridge and necessary utensils) and an en suite shower-room. They are all self-check in and full details are provided

48 hours prior to your stay.

 

43 Brecon Beacons Escape (43 BBE) is our  latest holiday cottage.  The cottage is on a terraced street on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil but within a few mins drive of bars, restaurants and major super markets. It sleeps 6 in 2 x double bedrooms with double beds and 1 x single room with adult bunk beds. It's stylish but still cosy lounge dinner has 2 leather sofas and a dining table that seats 6. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials needed for self catering and a bathroom with a shower and a bath.  As with  most of our properties it is a self check-in.

James' Place @ BIKE PARK WALES & THE BRECON BEACON This holiday home sleeps 8 in 2 x double bedrooms each with double beds, whilst 1 x double room  also has a set of adult bunk beds and 1 x single room, again with adult bunk beds. The lounge can comfortably seat 8, with it's big screen Smart TV and record player it is the perfect place to chill out and relax. The Dinning room seats 8 and we ask that you dress for dinner (book it and you will see what we mean!).  The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials needed for self catering. At the back there is a great outdoor space with hot tub, undercover seating, secure bike storage and all of this is done in James' Places eclectic style. This place has been designed for the Bikers or Hikers at heart.

James' Place @ THE BRECON BEACONS This holiday cottage has been creatively refurbished with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We are delighted to welcome families and their dogs. The cottage comfortable sleeps 8 and has the added benefit of 2 shower rooms (one on each floor). The interior has a uber modern style with all the labour saving gadgets needed so you can sit back and relax. Their is an extensive outside deck with hot tub, BBQ and everything needed for outdoor dining. The cottage garden has a wildflower meadow, a boardwalk and to keep the younger members of the family entertained there is a fabulous playground with swing, trampoline and even a zip wire !

Merthyr Tydfil is  right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and very close to Cardiff, the Welsh capital. Many of our guest come to climb Pen Y Fan  in the Brecon Beacons which is only 7 miles away and to walk through waterfall country. Merthyr Tydfil is historically fascinating as it was once the Iron capital of the world and  a fifth of the Borough of Merthyr Tydfil lays within the Brecon Beacons National Park giving the area some dramatic and breath taking scenery.
